Watermelon Feta Salad Ingredients

Watermelon. Chop the watermelon the same day you plan on serving the watermelon feta salad. You want to serve the freshest watermelon you can and once chopped, watermelon loses much more water. Watermelon is packed with fiber and nutrients, and is so refreshing on a hot summer day.

Feta. Salty and tangy, feta cheese complements the sweet watermelon flavor quite well. You can buy the block or pre-crumbled feta varieties.

Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO). Just a small amount is all that’s needed. Buy high quality extra virgin olive oil for top-notch quality and taste. Packed with antioxidants and nutrients, healthy olive oil makes this dish taste more like a salad.

Balsamic vinegar. In combination with EVOO and the watermelon, tangy balsamic vinegar drizzled over the top of the watermelon feta salad adds zesty flavor to this dish.

Fresh mint. Alternatively, you can use basil. Mince up fresh mint leaves and sprinkle them on top for the freshest, most refreshing salad ever.

Lemon zest. Fresh lemon zest gives the dish a citrusy flavor that is absolutely irresistible.

How to Make the Best Watermelon Feta Salad

STEP 1: Add the watermelon to a large serving plate. Sprinkle the crumbled feta over the melon.

STEP 2: Before serving, drizzle the olive oil and balsamic vinegar over the mixture. Sprinkle the mint and lemon zest on top and serve cold. Don’t add the olive oil and balsamic to the dish until ready to serve as it won’t set well.

STEP 3: If you make this, don’t forget to leave a rating and comment!
