Turns out that Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups are my favorite treat ever, so for me to whip up a batch of these amazing peanut butter cups was something I was very excited to do! Peanut butter and chocolate are the most mouthwatering salty and sugary combination. Every Christmas, I make these and send a box to my mom and sister who can’t put these down. Ingredients in Peanut Butter Balls

Peanut butter. Creamy peanut butter works best for these peanut butter balls. Avoid using natural peanut butter and instead, use a brand such as Jif or Skippy.

Butter. Use unsalted butter for this recipe.

Powdered sugar. Use powdered or confectioner’s sugar which gives these treats a sweet flavor.

Vanilla. A touch of vanilla extract gives these peanut butter balls some additional sweetness.

Chocolate chips. Use semi-sweet, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate chips.

How to Make the Best Peanut Butter Balls

1). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

2). Melt the butter by heating it over low in a pot on the stove or by placing it in a microwave-safe bowl and heating it up for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until melted. In a large bowl, combine the peanut butter and melted butter with a hand mixer. Mix until smooth.

3). Slowly add the powdered sugar until combined. Add the vanilla and mix.

4). Roll one-inch balls and place on the lined baking sheet until all the mixture is gone.

5). Refrigerate for 15 minutes or until hard. I left mine out back on our deck today as it was about 35 degrees F.

6). Melt the chocolate by heating it in a microwave-safe container for one minute. Stir and if not melted, put back in the microwave in 15-20 second increments, stirring in between, until it’s melted.

7). Remove the peanut butter balls from the refrigerator (or outside if it’s cold enough) and use a fork to dip them in the melted chocolate. Immediately place on the parchment paper lined baking sheet to set.
