Ingredients in Peanut Butter Balls
Peanut butter. Creamy peanut butter works best for these peanut butter balls. Avoid using natural peanut butter and instead, use a brand such as Jif or Skippy.
Butter. Use unsalted butter for this recipe.
Powdered sugar. Use powdered or confectioner’s sugar which gives these treats a sweet flavor.
Vanilla. A touch of vanilla extract gives these peanut butter balls some additional sweetness.
Chocolate chips. Use semi-sweet, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate chips.
Kitchen Best SellersHow to Make the Best Peanut Butter Balls
1). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
2). Melt the butter by heating it over low in a pot on the stove or by placing it in a microwave-safe bowl and heating it up for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until melted. In a large bowl, combine the peanut butter and melted butter with a hand mixer. Mix until smooth.
3). Slowly add the powdered sugar until combined. Add the vanilla and mix.
4). Roll one-inch balls and place on the lined baking sheet until all the mixture is gone.
5). Refrigerate for 15 minutes or until hard. I left mine out back on our deck today as it was about 35 degrees F.
6). Melt the chocolate by heating it in a microwave-safe container for one minute. Stir and if not melted, put back in the microwave in 15-20 second increments, stirring in between, until it’s melted.
7). Remove the peanut butter balls from the refrigerator (or outside if it’s cold enough) and use a fork to dip them in the melted chocolate. Immediately place on the parchment paper lined baking sheet to set.
