Grab a puff pastry and some apples, sugar, butter, and honey, and get to baking this fun and easy tart. This is such a great dessert to make in the fall when apples are in season and apple recipes are trending like crazy. You’ll want to thaw your puff pastry at least 30 minutes before you start working with it. The puff pastry needs to be thawed enough to stretch it out. Although we used red apples, you can use Granny Smith or any other type of apple you like.
Drizzling honey on top provides many health benefits including flavonoids and polyphenols, which act as antioxidants and protect the body from disease. According to the National Library of Medicine’s article, honey is a natural therapeutic agent for various medicinal purposes. How to Make the Best French Apple Tart
1). Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F/ 205 degrees C.
2). Flour your work surface and gently roll out your puff pastry. If it’s too frozen, let it sit before rolling it apart as it will fall apart if too frozen. Stretch out the pastry so that it’s approximately 10 inches by 15 inches.
3). Lay your apple slices in three separate rows, leaving a ½ inch to one inch border so that the juices do not overflow on the sides.
4). Sprinkle sugar over the top, followed by the butter.
5). Bake for 28-33 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and puffy.
6). Drizzle honey over the top and serve warm.
