The best way to make peanut sauce is to use a peanut butter container like the Jif container I use to make my Easy Peanut Sauce recipe in this post. My East Peanut Sauce recipe calls for peanut butter, soy sauce, sriracha, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, lime juice, freshly grated ginger, and water.
Peanut sauce is a delicious homemade Asian sauce and tastes best on Bang Bang Tofu, spring rolls, wraps, and with meat such as grilled chicken, shrimp, or beef. This recipe is my favorite and the best part? It’s ready in less than five minutes! Peanut sauce is the perfect dipping sauce for spring rolls, meat, and wraps.
Ingredients in Easy Peanut Sauce
Peanut butter. Avoid using natural peanut butter as it will not work with this recipe. Use creamy or crunchy peanut butter such as Jif or Skippy.
Soy sauce. Like a traditional Thai peanut sauce, my recipe calls for soy sauce.
Sriracha. Sriracha adds a zesty taste.
Honey. Honey provides a natural means of harmonizing and balancing the acid from the lime juice.
Rice vinegar. Rice vinegar adds flavor.
Toasted sesame oil. Toasted sesame oil adds a nutty taste.
Lime juice. Lime juice is acidic but provides a milder flavor.
Ginger. Freshly grated ginger root adds a fragrant zest to this peanut sauce.
Water. Water is used to thin out the thick sauce. Add as much as you need to reach the desired level of consistency.
The Best Mixing Bowl
If you have an empty peanut butter jar, use it to mix your Easy Peanut Sauce! There’s no point in throwing away a peanut butter container when you can use it to make mouthwatering peanut sauce! It also makes it fun to mix the ingredients in a peanut butter jar!
How to Make the Best Easy Peanut Sauce
STEP 1: Whisk or stir the peanut butter, soy sauce, sriracha, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, lime juice, ginger, and 3-4 tablespoons of water in a medium bowl. If the mixture is still too thick, add more water until it reaches the desired consistency.
STEP 2: Pour over cooked tofu, chicken, shrimp, or beef and serve as a dipping sauce with spring rolls or wraps.
