Light, crunchy, and refreshing Cucumber Dill Salad is a healthy vegan Mediterranean recipe. The fresh dill gives this salad the perfect balance of flavors. My deliciously healthy side dish contains cucumbers, white onions, white wine vinegar, and fresh dill. Allowing the juices to marinate for at least one hour will help give the salad more flavor. Onions, according to Healthline’s article, are members of the Allium genus of flowering plants which also include garlic, shallots, and leeks. Onions have been recognized as powerful medicinal vegetables for thousands of years. Healthline points out that in athletes in Ancient Greece used onions to purify their blood. Healthline’s post indicates that the antioxidants and compounds in onions may reduce your risk of heart disease by combatting inflammation and reducing triglycerides and cholesterol levels.

Cucumbers. Cool and rejuvenating cucumbers are the salad’s main ingredient and give this healthy salad a good crunch and light taste.

White onions. White onions are beneficial for gut health and mix wonderfully with the cucumbers.

White wine vinegar. White wine vinegar is mild and sweet flavor is popular in Mediterranean countries and Central Europe, according to Tarladalal’s article.

Dill. Fresh dill is a popular herb in Europe and Asia and comes from the dill weed plant. It offers a delicious herby flavor and is part of the celery family.

How to make the best Cucumber Dill Salad

STEP 1: Add the cucumber, onions, vinegar, and dill to a large bowl and mix.
