Flour tortillas. Large burrito sized flour tortillas are needed to make this recipe.

Ingredients in Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips

Butter. Unsalted or salted butter will work in this recipe. Here is my go-to butter!

Sugar. Granulated sugar mixes with cinnamon to make a cinnamon-sugar coating. As the sugar bakes, it caramelizes and forms crispy and crunchy sugar crystals, contributing to the crunchy texture of this snack.

Cinnamon. Cinnamon provides spice, flavor, and offers numerous nutritional benefits such as lowering blood sugar and cholesterol as well as provides antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. In fact, according to Web MD’s article, cinnamon has been shown to slow down or stave off angiogenesis which forms new blood vessels that feed tumors.

How to make the best Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips

STEP 1: Preheat your oven to 350° F.

STEP 2: In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon.

STEP 3: Use a pastry brush to brush the melted butter over one side of the tortillas. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.

STEP 4: Use a pizza cutter to slice the tortillas into 8 pieces. I like to stack them on top of each other and do a few at a time.

STEP 5: Arrange the pieces on ungreased baking sheets, making sure to leave room between each piece.

STEP 6: Bake for 9-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.

Other methods to cook Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips

If you don’t feel like baking them in the oven, you can air fry them in your air fryer at 350° F (175° F). You’ll place the tortillas coated in butter, sugar, and cinnamon, in your air fryer, making sure not to overcrowd or let the chips overlap while they cook. We have this Ninja air fryer and absolutely LOVE IT – I highly recommend it!

Air fry the chips for 3-4 minutes. Flip them over and air fry them for 3-4 minutes until the edges are crispy and golden. Serve them warm with your favorite sweet sauce or dip.

Pro Tips

Use fresh and high-quality flour tortillas for the best taste. Evenly spread the melted butter over each tortilla and make sure that your cinnamon and sugar mixture is well blended to even out the flavors. Make sure you aren’t overcrowding and overlapping your Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips while they bake or air fry.

Be sure to keep a close eye on your chips as they cook fast and ovens and air fryer cook times do vary depending on the brand. Some ovens and air fryers cook much quicker than others so it’s always good to keep a close eye. These also cook quickly so you want to prevent them from burning or from becoming too crispy.

What should I eat Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips with?

You can serve them with a fruit dip, dip them in warm chocolate sauce, chocolate hazelnut spread, or ice cream for one unforgettable dessert that will have your friends and family begging you to make more. Just ask my family who couldn’t get enough of these sweet-meets-savory chips!

Not feeling Cinnamon and Sugar?

You can switch things up by replacing the cinnamon and sugar with some salt, pepper, and chili powder instead if you wish. Savory chips taste great with my corn cucumber avocado salsa, guacamole, or a creamy dip.
