Make Halloween fun with the kids in your life with these easy, spooky Chocolate Halloween Bats! This simple no-bake snack only requires four ingredients and is done in less than 15 minutes, making it perfect for impatient toddlers like my four-year-old daughter. Kids and adults cannot pass these cute bats up and they’re perfect for a Halloween party, a classroom party, or for Halloween night! If you like chocolate, peanut butter, and Halloween, then this is one recipe you’ll want to save in your fall recipe folder. They also make fantastic make-it-yourself snacks for classroom and daycare Halloween parties!

Chocolate Halloween Bats contain chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreos), semi-sweet chocolate chips, Reese’s Minis, and candy eyes, and are done in just 15 minutes! I love the fact that there is no baking required, making this one easy and quick Halloween snack recipe. It’s so fun to let the kids eat these on Halloween night before they head out trick-or-treating!

Ingredients in Chocolate Halloween Bats

Chocolate sandwich cookies. Chocolate sandwich cookies, such as Oreos, function as the bat’s wings and gives the treat a chocolaty texture.

Semi-sweet chocolate chips. Melted semi-sweet chocolate chips are the “glue” that holds the chocolate sandwich cookies and candy eyes onto the Reese’s.

Reese’s Minis, unwrapped. You can buy these unwrapped and they are the tiniest Reese’s you can find, known as Reese’s Minis (pictured below and linked here). Don’t make the same mistake I did and buy the Reese’s Miniatures as they are larger and have not been tried and tested.

Candy eyes. Edible candy eyes or candy eyeballs can be found at craft stores such as Michaels, on Amazon, or in the baking aisle of big box retailers such as Walmart, as well as in most grocery stores.

How to make the best Chocolate Halloween Bats

STEP 1: Use your hands to separate the two cookie pieces. Use a butter knife to remove the creme center of each cookie. Using your hands, break each cookie piece in half. You will have four pieces from 1 cookie, for a total of 16 pieces. Tip: These don’t always break even, so keep a few extra cookies on the side for the ones that do not break evenly.

STEP 2: Pour the chocolate chips into a small bowl and heat in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir after until melted. If not melted, heat in 15 second increments until fully melted. Tip: If you stir long enough, they’re completely melted after 1 minute.

STEP 3: Use the end of a knife to apply the melted chocolate to the top of a Reese’s Mini. Carefully place two of the cookie pieces on the center, as shown in the post. Dab melted chocolate on top of the cookies and place the candy eyes on top. Let the chocolate dry before serving.
