The meatballs are made with ground beef, breadcrumbs, an egg, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil while the glaze is made of ginger, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, and sriracha, forming one unforgettable appetizer or main dish that everyone will love! Optional garnishes include sesame seeds and chives and are highly recommended for the best taste.

How to make the best Asian Glazed Meatballs

If you want to make the best Asian Glazed Meatballs, you need to first gather the ingredients.

STEP 1: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease the baking sheet.

STEP 2: Combine the beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil in a large bowl, using your hands.

STEP 3: Roll the meat into approximately 1.5-inch balls and drop them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until there is no pink in the center.

STEP 4: In the meantime, add the ginger, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, and sriracha to a large saucepan, and cook over medium to high heat. Bring to a boil, constantly stirring until it thickens, about 5 minutes.

STEP 5: Place the cooked meatballs in the glaze and gently stir them, coating them with the sauce. Serve over hot rice or noodles. Top with sesame seeds and chopped chives.

Low Carb Options

If you’re on a low carb or keto diet, you can omit the breadcrumbs and serve it over riced cauliflower, zoodles, or a salad for a low carb meal.

Can I make this as an appetizer?

Yes, you can; I recommend doubling the recipe if you’re planning on making the meatballs as an appetizer.
