Air Fryer Temperaments
Air fryers all vary and some cook quicker than others. Keep an eye on your chips as they could cook much quicker than mine. If your air fryer is anything like the one I used to have, you may have three rows of baking sheets cooking simultaneously. The air fryer I have now is this Ninja air fryer – it was a wonderful Christmas present and uses baskets to air fry. I highly recommend this air fryer.
How to make the best Air Fryer Tortilla Chips
STEP 1: Use a pizza cutter or knife to slice the tortillas into six pieces. Place the tortilla pieces on the air fryer baking sheet (or in the air fryer basket), without them overlapping. Lightly spray each piece with cooking spray and top with sea salt.
STEP 2: If your air fryer requires preheating, make sure to preheat it before you start cooking. Air fryers vary and each one is different and cooks differently, so carefully watch as they cook. After it’s preheated, if necessary, place the sprayed and salted tortillas in the air fryer and cook at 350° F for 2-3 minutes. Flip over and spray and salt the other side and cook for another 2-3 minutes. When they start browning, remove them and allow them to cool. Serve the chips with your favorite dip, guacamole, or salsa!
Leftover Storage
If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container for up to two weeks. Do not freeze or chill them as they’re tastiest when left at room temperature.
