This is one of the cheapest and easiest kid-friendly DIY Christmas crafts! I love dollar store crafts like these and preschoolers, toddlers, even older children, love making these cute reindeers. This is a fantastic fine motor craft for kids as they get a chance to cut and glue. You can make Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer with upcycled toilet paper rolls, as well as some other items laying around your house. I presented my two-year-old with a table of about 10 kid-friendly Christmas “toys” to play with. They’re actually decorations, but to her, everything is a toy. Most were bought at Dollar Tree specifically for her because I knew she was going to be into EVERYTHING Christmas! I’m just thankful she’s as obsessed with Christmas as her mommy! These two new “toys” will be hers to play with and I know she’ll enjoy every moment of play as she adores the holidays and especially Santa’s beloved reindeer!
How to Make the Best Toilet Paper Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
1). Trace something small and round, or draw by free hand, two circles on white paper. Cut them out with scissors. Use the black Sharpie marker to draw in eyes in the middle. Leave a little bit of white in the center.
2). Take one pipe cleaner and cut it in half. Take the other pipe cleaner and cut it in quarters (cut in half, then in half again). Pick up one of the two smaller, quartered pipe cleaners and wrap it around the pipe cleaner that is cut in half, about ½ inch to 1 inch from the bottom. Repeat about 1-2 inches up. Repeat this step for the other pipe cleaner that is cut in half.
3). Tape the eyes to the toilet paper roll.
Best Sellers4). Heat the hot glue gun and glue the red pom pom to the toilet paper roll, under the eyes. This will be Rudolph’s red nose.
5). Staple the pipe cleaners to each side, towards the back. You have to cram the toilet paper roll to make the stapler fit. It is okay to push it in and bend the toilet paper roll as it’s durable and will bend right back.
6). Cut a piece of ribbon as the belt. Use the hot glue to affix the ribbon to the toilet paper roll.
