If you want to really step up your finger food game, then bring these to your Halloween party! These bloody hot dog fingers will stun and disgust your best friends—they give a whole new meaning to “finger foods.” Make sure to drizzle ketchup all over the bottoms of each dog for the “severed” fingers! If you have kids, they most likely LOVE holidays and Halloween. Serve them these creepy fingers for dinner one fall evening!
You can take it to the next level by cutting pieces of white onions to use as “fingernails,” if you like. I make these every Halloween and I love the fact that they only require TWO INGREDIENTS and are ready in only 10 minutes, making them ideal for a Halloween party or on Halloween night before the trick or treating begins! Hot dogs are naturally low carb, gluten free, and dairy free for those with special diets.
I love these because they’re so easy and budget friendly. All you need is some ketchup to serve these dogs in and you’ll have kids and adults all around. My four-year-old and husband LOVE when I cook these for Halloween dinner! It’s the perfect fall recipe and can be made as a family for some family bonding and fun.
How to make the best Bloody Finger Hot Dogs
STEP 1: Using a knife, cut two slits to create a “fingernail.” Connect the top of the slits to form the top of a “fingernail.” Using the knife, cut a nail bed on the bottom edge of the “nail.”
STEP 2: Fill a large pot halfway with water; bring to a boil.
STEP 3: To create “knuckles,” cut a slit about halfway down the hot dog. Above that, cut a crescent shape to appear as a “knuckle.” Below the slit, cut another upside-down crescent. Above this middle “knuckle,” create a slit for the top of the “knuckle.” Above the slit, create a crescent shape. Once again, below the middle “knuckle,” create a slit. Beneath the slit, create an upside-down crescent so that they look like actual knuckles.
STEP 4: Once the water boils, cook the dogs for 4-5 minutes. Serve in warmed hot dog buns. Drizzle the ketchup on top.
