Ingredients in Chocolate Pretzel Spider Webs
Pretzel sticks. Pretzel sticks will be the spider’s legs.
Semi-sweet chocolate chips. Melted semi-sweet chocolate chips form the spider’s body and keep the pretzels intact.
Candy eyes. To give the spider’s eyes, use candy eyes or candy eyeballs. You can find them in the baking aisle of most big box retailers and grocery stores. Michaels and Amazon also sell candy eyes. I’ve even found candy eyes at Dollar Tree.
Halloween sprinkles. We find the highest quality and budget-friendly Halloween sprinkles at Walmart but grocery stores also sell them.
How to make the best Chocolate Pretzel Spider Webs
STEP 1: Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. You may need to cut it with scissors to make it fit in the baking sheets.
STEP 2: Arrange 8 pretzel sticks like a spider’s 8 legs or like a spoke on a bicycle wheel.
STEP 3: Melt the chocolate chips by placing them in a microwave-safe bowl and heating in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir and if not melted heat in 20 second increments, stirring in between, until fully melted.
STEP 4: Use a spoon to add a dollop in the center of each spider. Doing this first will help to secure the spider and its pretzel legs. Alternatively, you can pipe the chocolate by proceeding directly to Step 5. Carefully add the candy eyes.
STEP 5: Cut a small corner off a sandwich bag such as Ziploc or alternatively, use a piping bag. Spoon the remaining melted chocolate into the bag. Squeeze the chocolate downward, towards the cut hole. Use the sandwich bag to pipe the chocolate around and around the pretzel legs. Sprinkle the Halloween sprinkles over the melted chocolate. Let set for 1 hour.
