I’m dedicating this post to my beloved Nutella. I mean, do you really need a reason to eat this chocolate in a jar? I know I don’t! Have you ever imagined that your wildest chocolate loving dreams would come true with the heavenly combination of Nutella chocolate hazelnut spread with French toast?! I mean, this is one showstopping, mouthwatering French toast stick recipe, oozing with ooey gooey hazelnut chocolate spread! If you like sweet breakfasts and brunch, you’ll love my Mini Cinnamon Rolls, My Dad’s French Toast, French Toast Muffins, Sheet Pan Pancakes, Pancake Bacon Fingers, and Cinnamon Twists! If you love chocolate-hazelnut spread (Nutella) as much as we do, then you’ll drool over my Easy No-Bake Nutella Pie!

My easy breakfast recipe contains white bread, Nutella, an egg, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, butter, and sugar. To make Nutella-Stuffed French Toast Sticks, first remove the crust from the bread. I use this pizza cutter to cut the crust off as it’s way quicker than a knife (not to mention, it’s much sharper than a knife and cuts quickly and deeply). Spread the Nutella over the bread, forming a sandwich. Repeat with the bread slices until 3 sandwiches are made.

Next, in a bowl, you’ll whisk the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla, and then will dip both sides of the Nutella bread strips in the batter. Then, coat a frying pan with butter. Once warm, add the batter-covered bread sticks. Cook each strip for 1 minute on each side. In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar to make the coating. Dip both sides of the fried bread strips in the coating and serve with a warm bowl of Nutella.

Nutella – Lover or Hater?

I know some people who cannot stand Nutella—in fact, my own mom despises it. I wonder how I came from a woman who hates Nutella just about as much as I LOVE it! Hmmm…That is one puzzling thought I will never figure out! It seems that people either LOVE or hate Nutella (although I will never understand those who despise the ooey-gooey chocolaty dip!).

In this house, Nutella doesn’t ever seem to last very long. As a matter of fact, I quit buying the stuff because it just doesn’t last and let’s face it, when you’re trying to lose weight, you don’t want the delicious chocolate temptation around! Costco sells a two pack and I have stupidly bought them countless times. After many times buying the double packs, I learned my lesson to buy a single jar when in need. At least, the weight will drop quicker that way, right?

This French toast recipe used to make these French toast sticks is My Dad’s French Toast recipe, which happens to be my favorite French toast recipe on earth. This was one delicious recipe and my husband and toddler both agreed. Next time, I need to at least double the recipe!

How to make the best Nutella-Stuffed French Toast

STEP 1: Use a pizza cutter to remove the crust. Spread the Nutella over the bread to make a sandwich. Use the pizza cutter to slice each sandwich into three long strips. Repeat with the remaining bread slices.

STEP 2: Whisk the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla. Dip both sides of the Nutella bread strips in the batter.

STEP 3: Add the butter to a frying pan and heat over medium. Coat a frying pan with butter by twirling the pan until it’s coated with butter. Before you heat the butter, make sure you’re ready to coat the sticks in the batter.

STEP 4: In a small bowl, add the sugar and cinnamon to make the coating. Dip both sides of the cooked Nutella strips in the coating and serve with a bowl of warm Nutella. Dip the sticks in the warmed Nutella and enjoy.
