This luscious banana split pie reminds me of being a kid and eating a banana split at a diner with my grandma in Anaheim, California. Or at Baskin Robbins because that was menu item that was always off limits as it was “too big!” Well, bring a slice of childhood home tonight with these easy and delicious pie that is made from scratch—from head to toe. The crust, filling, and whipped cream topping are all specially made with love, from scratch. You get the sweet taste of a banana split in one delectable dessert! If you enjoy banana desserts, then you’ll love my Banana Split Trifle Jars, Banana Split Pops, Banana Pudding, and Banana Poke Cake recipes!

There’s something to be said for a pie that is made from scratch. Sure, you could buy the pre-made graham cracker pie crust, but it just wouldn’t taste the same. My version includes a homemade pie crust of crushed graham crackers, brown sugar, and butter. Store-bought knock offs just don’t compare to the fresh, homemade version.

The filling is simple as it’s just cream cheese and powdered sugar. You will also be adding on sliced bananas and pineapple, but the filling itself is easy peasy and SO drool-worthy! I was pleasantly surprised taking a bite as I was a bit unsure as to how this pie would taste. It was SO DELICIOUS. My husband and three-year-old daughter agree too—it’s one of those shockingly comfort pies that grandma would’ve made in her vintage oven, for her neighbors to smell.

The topping is my favorite pie topping which is heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar. The magic happens as you beat the mixture together with a hand or stand mixer for about five minutes. Be patient and it will pay off with my favorite whipped cream topping. I can’t buy store-bought whipped cream after I found this whipped cream topping. It’s been lifechanging for all my desserts and pies!

How to make the best Banana Split Pie

STEP 1: Preheat your oven.

STEP 2: in a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, and melted butter. Stir with a spoon, then use your hands to mix. Pour the graham cracker mixture into a 9-inch pie pan, forming a ¼-inch thick crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then let the crust cool.

STEP 3: To prepare the filling, use a stand or hand mixer to beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar until creamy and smooth. Pour the mixture into the crust.

STEP 4: Arrange the sliced bananas on top of the cream cheese mixture. Add the pineapple chunks on top, and use a rubber spatula or spatula to press down on the top, making room for the whipped cream topping.

STEP 5: To prepare the whipped cream topping, use a stand or hand mixer to beat the heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form. Add the powdered sugar and continue beating until medium peaks have formed. Spoon the whipped cream over the pie and garnish with Maraschino cherries. Before serving, drizzle chocolate sauce on top. Store covered, in the refrigerator.
