My husband and I have always loved lunching at our local Red Robin. I have always loved their southwest chicken salad with their signature (not to mention insanely addicting) Honey Mustard Poppy Seed Dressing for more than two decades! This Red Robin Honey Mustard Poppy Seed Dressing is the original recipe right from the Red Robin training book!

This is a scaled down version of the exact ingredients and quantities used at the famous American chain. Once I spotted this online, I could not wait to try it. We’ve made it countless times and can’t ever get enough! I did not modify this recipe at all – I mean, why change something when it’s already so perfect?! What is Red Robin Honey Mustard Poppy Seed Dressing?

If you’ve dined at Red Robin, then you may know about their unforgettable Honey Mustard Poppy Seed dressing. Every time I go to Red Robin, I order a chicken salad with their signature Honey Mustard Poppy Seed dressing – I cannot ever get enough. It contains the perfect blend of ingredients.

Special Diets

This is a naturally gluten free, vegetarian recipe, but for a vegan recipe, use vegan mayo in lieu of regular mayonnaise and agave in place of honey. The recipe won’t quite be the same, but it’ll be really close!

Ingredients in Red Robin Honey Mustard Poppy Seed Dressing

Mayonnaise. Mayo forms the foundation of this creamy dressing.

White sugar. White or granulated sugar sweetens up this dressing.

Honey. We like organic raw honey best.

Mustard. Yellow mustard adds flavor and zest.

Grey Poupon Dijon mustard. Like the signature Red Robin Honey Poppy Seed Dressing recipe, you must use Grey Poupon Dijon mustard for the classic dressing flavors.

White vinegar. White vinegar adds an acidic taste and balances the ingredients out in this dressing recipe.

Vegetable oil. Vegetable oil adds oil and texture.

Poppy seeds. Poppy seeds make the Red Robin honey mustard dressing.
